2022 Festival: Local Author
Elizabeth is a poet and yoga teacher living in Montreal and on her family homestead in Vale Perkins, Quebec. For over ten years she has led poetry writing circles for those suffering grief and loss. She facilitates large and small arts-based/environmental projects and events which bring people from diverse language and cultural communities together.
Born in Montreal, Ruth Patterson now lives in Stouffville, Ontario. She has summered at her husband’s family cottage in the Vale since age 17. As a speech-language pathologist, she has loved helping people of all ages communicate and tell their stories in creative ways. Now retired, she has returned to her love of writing poetry and stories, inspired by hiking, biking and sailing in the Vale.
Together Elizabeth and Ruth share a love of nature, stories, and a family history of almost two hundred years on Girl's Camp Road in Vale Perkins, Quebec.
