The Knowlton Literary Festival is the sole English-language literary festival between Montreal and Quebec City. It is organized and presented annually by the Knowlton Literary Association to:

• Develop and deliver high-quality programming/activities that celebrate and contribute to the literary culture of the English-speaking community; 
• Introduce participants to the work of outstanding writers;
• Encourage, promote and better equip local writers, both published and non-published;
• Foster literacy (text, oral, visual) amongst participants of all ages and backgrounds, and
• Promote community interaction, break social isolation and build a strong sense of regional cultural identity.
